Copyright Notice and Licensing Policy

Jurnal Vokasi Indonesia (JVI) respects and protects the intellectual property rights of authors while supporting open access to scholarly research. The journal's copyright and licensing policy is designed to ensure appropriate recognition of authorship, transparent publication rights, and the responsible dissemination and reuse of published scholarly works.

1. Copyright Ownership

Authors retain copyright and full ownership of their scholarly works published in JVI. By submitting a manuscript for publication, authors agree that, upon acceptance, JVI is granted the right of first publication.

The retention of copyright allows authors to continue using, sharing, and disseminating their work in accordance with the applicable Creative Commons license and any relevant third-party rights.

2. First Publication Rights

Authors grant JVI the non-exclusive right to publish, reproduce, distribute, and make the accepted article publicly available as the version of record through the journal's official publication platform.

The journal is entitled to identify itself as the original publisher of the article and to maintain the published version as part of its scholarly publication record.

Authors remain responsible for ensuring that the manuscript is original and that its publication does not infringe the intellectual property rights of others.

3. Creative Commons License

Unless otherwise explicitly indicated, articles published in JVI are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0).

Under this license, users are free to:

  • Share: Copy and redistribute the published material in any medium or format.
  • Adapt: Remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, including commercial use.

Users must comply with the following conditions:

  • Attribution: Provide appropriate credit to the original authors, cite the original publication, include a link to the license, and indicate whether changes were made.
  • ShareAlike: Distribute adapted material under the same license or a compatible license permitted by Creative Commons.
  • No Additional Restrictions: Do not apply legal terms or technological measures that prevent others from exercising the rights granted by the license.

The complete terms of this license are available at https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/.

  • The right to be identified and acknowledged as the original creators of their scholarly works.
  • The right to share and distribute their published articles through academic, professional, and institutional channels.
  • The right to deposit the final published version of their articles in institutional or other appropriate scholarly repositories.
  • The right to reuse their published work in subsequent scholarly publications, educational materials, presentations, and other academic activities, with appropriate acknowledgment of the original publication.
  • The right to develop and extend their research in future scholarly works, subject to proper attribution and applicable publication ethics requirements.

5. Responsibilities of Authors

Authors are responsible for ensuring that submitted manuscripts comply with applicable copyright laws and ethical standards.

In particular, authors must:

  • Submit original work and appropriately acknowledge all external sources.
  • Obtain permission to reproduce copyrighted materials when required.

  • Disclose any relevant restrictions affecting the publication or reuse of research materials.
  • Confirm that they have the necessary rights to grant the journal the stated publication permissions.

6. Third-Party Materials

Authors who incorporate third-party materials, including figures, tables, photographs, illustrations, research instruments, or substantial text excerpts, must ensure that such materials are used lawfully and appropriately attributed.

Where third-party materials are not covered by the article's Creative Commons license, their separate copyright status and reuse restrictions should be clearly indicated.

Authors are responsible for obtaining any permissions required for publication and subsequent reuse of such materials.

7. Reuse and Redistribution of Published Articles

Readers, researchers, educators, and other users may share, reproduce, and adapt JVI articles in accordance with the CC BY-SA 4.0 license.

When reusing published materials, users should acknowledge the original authors, article title, journal name, publication details, and DOI or official article URL where available.

Users must not falsely imply that the original authors or JVI endorse their reuse or adaptation of the material.

8. Copyright Infringement and Disputes

JVI takes concerns regarding copyright infringement and unauthorized use of intellectual property seriously.

Allegations of copyright infringement involving submitted or published manuscripts will be evaluated by the editorial team based on the available evidence and applicable legal and publication ethics requirements.

Where necessary, the journal may request clarification, supporting documentation, or evidence of permission from the parties concerned.

Appropriate editorial action may include correction, clarification, rejection of a manuscript, or retraction of a published article, depending on the nature and seriousness of the issue.
