Aims and Scope

Jurnal Vokasi Indonesia (JVI) is a peer-reviewed, open-access, multidisciplinary scholarly journal published by the Vocational Education Program, Universitas Indonesia. The journal provides a platform for the publication and dissemination of original research that advances applied knowledge, professional practices, technological innovation, and evidence-based solutions to contemporary challenges in industry, public services, and society.

Aims

JVI aims to promote the development, application, and dissemination of scholarly knowledge across diverse academic and professional disciplines. The journal seeks to bridge theoretical advancement and practical implementation by publishing research that addresses real-world problems and contributes to the improvement of professional practices, institutional performance, technological development, and societal well-being.

The specific objectives of JVI are to:

  1. Disseminate original and high-quality research findings with theoretical, methodological, or practical contributions to applied and professional disciplines.
  2. Encourage interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research that integrates scientific knowledge with practical applications.
  3. Promote evidence-based approaches to addressing challenges in business, industry, technology, health, public services, and society.
  4. Support innovation, professional development, institutional improvement, and sustainable development through applied research.
  5. Facilitate scholarly communication and collaboration among academics, researchers, practitioners, industry professionals, and policymakers at national and international levels.

Scope

JVI welcomes original research articles addressing applied and interdisciplinary issues across various fields of study. The journal particularly encourages manuscripts that demonstrate a clear relationship between research findings and their applications in professional, institutional, industrial, technological, or societal contexts.

Research Approaches and Article Types

JVI welcomes original research employing quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods, and other rigorous research approaches appropriate to the research objectives. Interdisciplinary studies, empirical investigations, applied conceptual frameworks, and research involving the development or evaluation of practical interventions are particularly encouraged.

The journal primarily publishes original research articles. Other scholarly article types may be considered subject to the journal's editorial policies and the approval of the Editorial Board.

Manuscript Suitability

Manuscripts submitted to JVI should demonstrate:

  1. A clear and relevant research problem within the journal's multidisciplinary applied research orientation.
  2. Originality and a meaningful contribution to scientific knowledge, professional practice, or policy development.
  3. An appropriate theoretical, conceptual, or analytical foundation.
  4. Methodological rigor, transparent analysis, and credible interpretation of findings.
  5. Clear implications for practice, industry, institutions, communities, or professional development, where relevant.
  6. Compliance with research ethics and scholarly publication standards.

Out of Scope

JVI does not normally consider manuscripts that:

  • Fall outside the journal's declared areas of interest without a clear interdisciplinary or applied research connection.
  • Present purely descriptive reports without sufficient scientific analysis or original contribution.
  • Offer theoretical discussions without adequate scholarly development or a clear connection to the journal's applied research orientation.
  • Present technical descriptions or project implementation reports without systematic research methods and analysis.
  • Lack methodological transparency, reliable evidence, or a clear research contribution.
  • Have been previously published or are simultaneously under consideration by another journal.

Manuscripts are evaluated based on their scientific quality, originality, methodological soundness, relevance to the journal's scope, and potential contribution to research and professional practice.
