Aims and Scope

The ASEAN Journal of Community Engagement (AJCE) is an international publication dedicated to community engagement initiatives. It aims to advance the theories, research, and practices surrounding community engagement. The journal features topics within the global discourse of community empowerment and participation through research-based practice and innovative and appropriate interventions that celebrate the diversity of social-cultural and economic conditions and empower local and grassroots communities.

AJCE encourages original research related to community engagement programs, development of interventions within society, evaluation of existing programs, and theoretical discussion or reviews on community engagement aspects. The journal covers a wide range of topics related to community development, community services, community empowerment, and community outreach. The journal emphasizes multidisciplinary perspectives in understanding community engagement, highlighting contributions from various disciplines, such as but not limited to health, economy, technology, education, and environment. It emphasizes the importance of its discussion in advancing particular Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) elaborated through models and conceptual frameworks. Such discussions reflect the global role of AJCE in advancing knowledge of community engagement for the betterment of society.
