Aims and Scope

Aims

The ASEAN Journal of Community Engagement is an international publication dedicated to community engagement initiatives. It aims to advance the theories, research, and practices surrounding community engagement while fostering collaboration between developed and developing countries. We invite authors to submit articles that enhance community involvement and innovation, ultimately contributing to the sustainability of communities.

Scope

The term ‘community engagement’ encompasses activities aimed at working with the community and developing community capabilities through relevant research, appropriate approaches, and innovation in various community practices. It focuses on empowering local and grassroots communities. The journal features advancements across fields and covers topics within the global discourse of community empowerment and participation, such as community-based research, innovative and creative strategies in community services, and purposeful community engagement that promotes local values and community resilience. Additionally, starting in 2025, AJCE emphasizes the importance of its discussion in advancing particular Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) elaborated through models and conceptual frameworks. Such discussions reflect the global role of AJCE in advancing knowledge of community engagement for the betterment of society.
