About The Journal

The ASEAN Journal of Community Engagement (AJCE) is a bi-annual peer-reviewed journal dedicated to research on community engagement issues and practices. It provides a platform for academics, practitioners, and community representatives to explore and reflect on topics related to community participation and empowerment. Through the dissemination of theoretical studies, implementation practices, and policies, AJCE seeks to contribute comprehensively to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Published by Universitas Indonesia in collaboration with the ASEAN University Network (AUN) and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), AJCE was established in 2017. The journal aims to foster and strengthen both academic and community networks by sharing best practices and lessons learned on community engagement across ASEAN countries, as well as addressing community empowerment and participation issues in other regions.

Frequency of Publication

The journal is published twice a year (July and December).
