Artificial Intelligence (AI) Usage Policy

While acknowledging the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in academic publishing, we believe that the use of AI tools must be carefully regulated to safeguard academic integrity and authors’ accountability.

a. Permissible Uses

Authors may use AI tools for limited and supportive purposes, provided that human oversight and responsibility are maintained, including to:

  • Check grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Enhance clarity, coherence, and tone.
  • Assist with citation formatting and reference organisation.
  • Produce simple visual materials, subject to ethical sourcing and author review.

b. Prohibited Uses

AI tools must not be used to:

  • Produce complete manuscripts or substantial original sections without critical human evaluation.
  • Fabricate or falsify data, images, or research findings.
  • Translate texts without careful human verification.
  • Automatically paraphrase or summarise existing publications.
  • Generate content that violates copyright or reproduces protected materials without authorization.

Authors are encouraged to disclose the use of AI tools in the preparation of their manuscripts.
