Publication Ethics Statement

The Journal of Project Management & Construction (JPMC) upholds rigorous publication ethics standards to ensure the integrity and credibility of scholarly research. Authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher are expected to adhere to the following ethical principles throughout the publication process.

Allegations of Misconduct

JPMC takes allegations of misconduct seriously, both pre-publication and post-publication. The journal will thoroughly assess any allegations and may take appropriate actions, including but not limited to publishing corrections, retracting articles, or communicating with relevant academic bodies or institutions.

Duties of Authors

Authors submitting original research reports to JPMC are expected to:

  • Provide an accurate overview of the work and an objective discussion of its significance, ensuring the underlying data are appropriately reported.
  • Include sufficient detail and references to enable replication of the work.
  • Ensure all works are original and properly cited or quoted if utilizing the work of others.
  • Adhere to ethical standards in research, avoiding plagiarism and falsification of data.
  • Declare any conflicts of interest or competing interests related to the research.

Duties of Reviewers

Reviewers assisting in the peer-review process of JPMC manuscripts are expected to:

  • Treat authors and their work with respect and fairness.
  • Decline to review manuscripts if they feel unqualified or unable to provide a timely review.
  • Conduct reviews objectively, identifying any potential ethical issues or conflicts of interest.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding the manuscript and its contents.
  • Provide constructive feedback to authors to improve the quality of their research.

Complaints and Appeals

Authors or stakeholders with complaints or appeals regarding publication decisions or ethical matters should follow the established procedure outlined by JPMC. All complaints will be handled with fairness, transparency, and confidentiality.

Conflict of Interest/Competing Interests

Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence their research or its interpretation. This includes financial interests, affiliations, or personal relationships that may bias their work. Transparency in reporting conflicts of interest ensures the integrity of the research process.

Data Sharing and Reproducibility

JPMC encourages authors to share their research data and materials to promote transparency and reproducibility. Authors should provide sufficient information to allow others to replicate their findings. Fabricated data or unethical research practices undermine the credibility of scientific research and are strictly prohibited.

Ethical Oversight

JPMC's editorial board and staff are committed to upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct in publishing. Any breaches of publication ethics will be thoroughly investigated and appropriate actions taken, including corrections, retractions, or sanctions against responsible parties.

Intellectual Property

All content published in JPMC is protected under copyright laws and licensed under appropriate terms. Authors retain the rights to their work, but must acknowledge JPMC as the original publisher. Plagiarism, unauthorized use of copyrighted material, or other violations of intellectual property rights are strictly prohibited.

Peer Review Process

JPMC employs a rigorous peer-review process to evaluate submitted manuscripts. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise and impartiality, and their feedback is used to assess the quality and validity of the research. Peer review helps ensure the integrity and credibility of published articles.

Post-publication Discussions and Corrections

Any corrections, errata, or retractions necessary after publication will be promptly addressed by JPMC. Authors and readers are encouraged to report any errors or concerns to the editorial team, who will investigate and take appropriate action to maintain the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record.
