About This Journal

The Journal of General – Procedural Dermatology and Venereology Indonesia (JDVI) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal established through the initiative of leading Indonesian dermatologists and venereologists who shared a commitment to advancing research, scientific knowledge, and scholarly communication in dermatology and venereology.

Founded in 2015, JDVI was initiated by the Department of Dermatology and Venereology, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Indonesia, and is published by Universitas Indonesia (UI) Publishing. It is supported by Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo National General Hospital and the Indonesian Society of Dermatology and Venereology (INSDV). Since publishing its inaugural issue in August 2015, JDVI has been published biannually.

JDVI welcomes submissions from researchers, clinicians, and healthcare professionals worldwide in the fields of dermatology, venereology, and related disciplines. All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous peer-review process conducted by independent experts in the relevant fields to ensure the scientific quality, originality, validity, and significance of the published work. Editorial decisions are based on the recommendations of peer reviewers and the Editorial Board in accordance with the journal's editorial policies and ethical standards.

As a fully open-access journal, JDVI provides immediate and unrestricted online access to all published articles without subscription or paywall barriers. Authors retain the copyright of their published articles. By publishing in JDVI, the author(s) grant Universitas Indonesia, as the publisher, the right of first publication of all published material. All published articles are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) License, which permits others to copy, distribute, adapt, and build upon the work for non-commercial purposes, provided appropriate credit is given to the original authors and the journal.

The journal has continuously strengthened its publishing standards and scholarly visibility. In Volume 1, the journal was abbreviated as J Gen Pro DVI. Beginning with Volume 2, the official abbreviation was revised to J Gen Proced Dermatol Venereol Indones. Since October 2015, all published articles have been assigned a unique Digital Object Identifier (DOI) through Crossref, ensuring permanent identification and accessibility of published content.

To enhance the discoverability and global dissemination of its publications, JDVI has progressively expanded its indexing coverage. The journal has been indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journal (DOAJ) since July 2017 and has been searchable through Google Scholar since November 2017. It is also indexed in several national and international databases and library discovery services, including SINTA, ARJUNA, ProQuest,WorldCatBASEScilitPKP IndexHINARIEZB, JISC Library Hub DiscoverOneSearch, and library catalogues of leading academic institutions.

JDVI has also received national recognition for its publication quality. The journal has been accredited as a Second-Grade Scientific Journal (SINTA 2) by the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia. It was first awarded SINTA 2 accreditation under the Decree of the Director General of Research and Development Strengthening No. 105/E/KPT/2022, issued on June 7, 2022, covering publications from Volume 5, Issue 2 (2021) to Volume 10, Issue 1 (2026). The accreditation was subsequently renewed under the Decree of the Directorate General of Science and Technology, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia No. 355/DST/D.D1/HM.01.01/2026, issued on June 28, 2026.

Committed to maintaining to the highest standards of scholarly publishing and publication ethics, the journal is a member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and adheres to internationally recognized ethical guidelines for editors, reviewers, and authors.

Migration to New Website

A major milestone in the journal's development occurred at the end of 2022, when JDVI joined ScholarHub Universitas Indonesia, a university-wide initiative managed by the Research and Innovation Management Office to centralize and strengthen scholarly publishing. As part of this initiative, the journal migrated from the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform to Digital Commons. The migration introduced a new website, an enhanced publishing interface, and improved digital publishing services.

Following the platform migration, the journal adopted a revised Digital Object Identifier (DOI) format in accordance with Universitas Indonesia's publishing standards. Nevertheless, all previously assigned DOIs remain fully functional, ensuring uninterrupted and permanent access to articles published before the migration.

The journal continues to improve its digital publishing platform and online services to enhance accessibility, functionality, and the overall experience for authors, reviewers, editors, and readers.
