Environmental Law and Economic Law Review: Green Economy and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) into green economy or greenwashing?
Abstract
In implementing the SDGs through the green economy pattern, countries are competing in applying the ESG concept which has the aim of becoming a framework pillar that aims to identify all non-financial risks and opportunities related to the company's routine, especially in relation to the Environment (E), Social (S), and governance (G) so that the business being run becomes a sustainable business. Implementation of ESG in the implementation of business transactions through corporate actions. The well-founded implementation of ESG principles in the company will have a positive impact on the company and increase the attractiveness for investors in the midst of today's very high business competition. ESG is expected to be the key in promoting economic improvement without sacrificing environmental aspects.
