Indonesian Journal of International Law is a peer-reviewed journal committed to uphold the highest standards of publication ethics. In order to provide our readers with a journal of highest quality, we state the following principles of Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement adopted from COPE Guideline. All articles not in accordance with these standards will be removed from the publication at any time even after the publication. In accordance with the code of conduct we will report any cases of suspected plagiarism or duplicate publishing to the relevant authorities. Indonesian Journal of International Law reserves the right to use plagiarism-detecting software to screen submitted papers at all times.

Authors:

  • Authors must ensure that they have written original works.
  • Authors must cite original sources, not Generative AI tools as primary sources within the references.
  • Authors must disclose the use of AI tools that can produce content, such as generating text,  references, images, or any other form of content. 
  • Authors must not list AI-bots as authors or sources in their submission.   
  • Authors must ensure that the manuscript has not been sent or published elsewhere.
  • Authors are responsible for editing the manuscript’s language before submission.
  • Authors submitting their works to the journal for publication as original articles confirm that the submitted works represent their authors’ contributions and have not been copied, plagiarized, or AI-generated in whole or in part from other works without clearly citing.
  • Authors must notify the Indonesian Journal of International Law of any conflicts of interest.
  • Authors must report any errors they discover in their manuscript to the Indonesian Journal of International Law.
  • Any work or words of other authors, contributors, or sources should be appropriately credited and referenced.
  • By submitting their article, authors agree to the license agreement.
  • All articles must be submitted using the online submission procedure.

Editorial Board:

  • Editors must ensure a fair peer-review of the submitted articles for publication.
  • Editors may use Generative AI tools for assistance in finding reviewers.
  • Editors must disclose any conflicts of interest.
  • Editors must conduct a plagiarism check for the submitted manuscript.
  • Editors must ensure the article is not AI-generated writing before publishing. 
  • Editors must ensure that all information related to the submitted manuscripts is kept confidential before publishing.
  • Editors may return the manuscript to the author(s) if it is determined that more than 50% of the content was generated by AI.
  • Editors must evaluate manuscripts solely based on their intellectual content.
  • Editor-in-Chief will coordinate the work of the editors.
  • Editors must investigate suspected inappropriate use of AI in articles and review reports. 
  • Editor-in-Chief have the right to retract the article if inappropriate use of AI is found after publication.

Reviewers:

  • Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts based on content without regard to ethnic origin, gender, sexual orientation, citizenship, religious beliefs, or political philosophy of the authors.
  • Reviewers must ensure that all the information related to submitted manuscripts is kept confidential and must report to the Editor-in-Chief if they are aware of copyright infringement and plagiarism on the author’s side.
  • Reviewers must evaluate the submitted works objectively and clearly present their opinions on the works in the review form.
  • Reviewers should not use Generative AI tools to make a review report and generate feedback for the article. 
  • Reviewers must keep information pertaining to the manuscript confidential.
  • A reviewer who feels unqualified to review the research reported in a manuscript or knows that its prompt review will be impossible should notify the Editor-in-Chief and excuse themselves from the review process.
