About This Journal
Kesmas: Jurnal Kesehatan Masyarakat Nasional (National Public Health Journal), a journal published by the Faculty of Public Health Universitas Indonesia, is established since August 2006 with the first brand name as Kesmas: Jurnal Kesehatan Masyarakat Nasional. In the journal’s internationalization starting in 2015, the name was translated into English as Kesmas: National Public Health Journal and officially released for Volume 11 Issue 1 August 2016 onwards. As the journal was once required to maintain a consistency in writing the brand name, the journal was renamed Kesmas: Jurnal Kesehatan Masyarakat Nasional (National Public Health Journal) as of Volume 15 Issue 2 May 2020.
Kesmas: Jurnal Kesehatan Masyarakat Nasional (National Public Health Journal) was first published every two months since August 2006 with 50 pages for each issue and a purple-colored cover. Then from August 2012 to February 2014, the journal was published monthly with orange peach-colored plus picture cover. As of managerial restructuring in May 2014, the journal has been published quarterly (February, May, August, November) with an additional page number to 100 pages from 50 pages for each issue. The cover has been orange peach colored without any picture. Under the journal’s internationalization progress which began in August 2015, each issue consists of a total of 50 pages of articles in English. Per current Editorial policy, the first issue of each volume begins in February from then on. In addition, since February 2021 (Volume 16 Issue 1), the number of articles published is 9-11 articles with ±70 pages per issue.
Kesmas: Jurnal Kesehatan Masyarakat Nasional (National Public Health Journal) is on public health as discipline and practices related to preventive and promotive measures to enhance the public health through a scientific approach applying a variety of techniques. This focus includes areas and scopes such as Biostatistics and Population Studies, Epidemiology, Health Education and Behavioral Sciences, Health Policy and Administration, Environmental Health, Public Health Nutrition, Sexual and Reproductive Health, Quality of Health Services, and Occupational Health and Safety.
Kesmas: Jurnal Kesehatan Masyarakat Nasional (National Public Health Journal) has been accredited by the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, Technology in 2009-2012, 2012-2017, and 2017-2021 periods. The journal has been SINTA-1 accredited since 2020 (No. 85/M/KPT/2020) and Scopus indexed for coverage articles published from 2016 until now. The journal is published quarterly in February, May, August, and November for regular issues and July for a special issue. The journal employs a peer-review mechanism in which each article submitted must be anonymously reviewed by expert peers appointed by the Editor. Articles published in Kesmas: Jurnal Kesehatan Masyarakat Nasional (National Public Health Journal) could be original articles and non-research articles (brief reports, case reports, opinions, commentaries, editorials, and correspondence).
