Philosophy of JURNAL KOMUNIKASI INDONESIA

For more information, please see JURNAL KOMUNIKASI INDONESIA Aims and Scope page.

Who Can Submit?

Anyone may submit an original article to be considered for publication in JURNAL KOMUNIKASI INDONESIA provided he or she owns the copyright to the work being submitted or is authorized by the copyright owner or owners to submit the article. Authors are the initial owners of the copyrights to their works (an exception in the non-academic world to this might exist if the authors have, as a condition of employment, agreed to transfer copyright to their employer).

General Submission Rules

Submitted articles cannot have been previously published, nor be forthcoming in an archival journal or book (print or electronic). Please note: "publication" in a working-paper series does not constitute prior publication. In addition, by submitting material to JURNAL KOMUNIKASI INDONESIA, the author is stipulating that the material is not currently under review at another journal (electronic or print) and that he or she will not submit the material to another journal (electronic or print) until the completion of the editorial decision process at JURNAL KOMUNIKASI INDONESIA. If you have concerns about the submission terms for JURNAL KOMUNIKASI INDONESIA, please contact the editors via email at jki@ui.ac.id.

Formatting Requirements

JURNAL KOMUNIKASI INDONESIA has rules governing the formatting of the initial manuscript submission. See Final Manuscript Preparation Guidelines for details. Although bepress and editorial board can provide limited technical support, it is ultimately the responsibility of the author to produce an electronic version of the article as a high-quality PDF (Adobe's Portable Document Format) file, or a Microsoft Word, WordPerfect or RTF file that can be converted to a PDF file.

It is understood that the current state of technology of Adobe's Portable Document Format (PDF) is such that there are no, and can be no, guarantees that documents in PDF will work perfectly with all possible hardware and software configurations that readers may have.

Publication Process

Publication Process involves a desk review, double-blind peer review, revision by the author, and a final decision. JURNAL KOMUNIKASI INDONESIA will issue the letter of acceptance after the author submits their final revision.

Please be advised that JURNAL KOMUNIKASI INDONESIA does not have a ‘fast-track’ publication policy or any practice under similar terms which allow authors to publish their manuscript in a relatively short timeframe. All manuscripts will be processed chronologically and prioritised by their submission timestamp.

  1. All initial properly formatted manuscripts as required in JURNAL KOMUNIKASI INDONESIA Final Manuscript Preparation Guidelines will be considered by the Editor-in-Chief for their qualities and alignment to the journal’s aims and scope, and then assign the manuscript to one of our editors or associate editors (desk review process)—authors can expect a decision in this initial process within 30 days.
  2. Assigned Editor(s) will select and appoint internal and external reviewers, then supervise the review process (double-blind peer review)—authors can expect this initial phase to be completed within 60 days. Please be advised that this time may vary.
  3. Revision process by the author can be carried out after the manuscript receives feedback/decision from our reviewers and authors sign the author declaration form. Our editors will send this decision to the author(s) alongside a resume of feedback that can guide the revision process.
  4. Final decision (acceptance) will be issued after authors complete the revision which is deemed satisfactory by the editor(s) and our reviewers. By this time, authors will also complete our final administrative requirements (publication agreement and APC payment).
