Peer review process

Submission and processing of manuscripts to Wacana are done on a non-paying basis.

The editor makes an initial appraisal of each manuscript. If it seems potentially appropriate for the journal, the manuscript goes to a review process. Once the review process has been completed, decision on acceptance, revision, or rejection of the manuscript is made by the editor.

Wacana has a double-blind review process. Authors are not told who review their papers and reviewers are not told who the author of a paper is. Peer reviewers may be informed of the identity of the author after a manuscript is either accepted or rejected. After a decision is reached, peer reviewers may be informed of the identity of the author of a manuscript.

A decision on the manuscript generally takes four to five months after submission; delays in obtaining reviews may prolong this process. Manuscripts are sent out for review electronically, and all correspondence takes place via e-mail.

Wacana uses i-Thenticate plagiarism detection service to ensure the integrity of all submitted manuscripts.

With full awareness, the author submitting the article manuscript understands that if the article manuscript is accepted for publication, the publishing copyright must be given to Wacana, Journal of the Humanities of Indonesia, Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Indonesia as the publisher of the journal. Therefore, the author must submit a statement of the copyright transfer agreement (copyright transfer agreement).
