Aims and Scope

Makara Journal of Health Research is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes interdisciplinary research in health sciences, with emphasis on public health, health behavior, and health systems. The journal particularly addresses non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and related health challenges, while also encompassing broader health issues relevant to diverse populations. The scope includes epidemiology, health promotion and disease prevention, health policy and management, health education, healthcare services research, and the development and validation of health-related instruments. The journal also considers selected clinical and biomedical studies related to disease mechanisms, diagnosis, and management. The journal aims to support evidence-based practice and inform health policy, particularly in the Asia-Pacific and Mediterranean regions.
