Abstract

An important element in entrepreneurship is being alert to unexploited opportunities. In the context of entrepreneurial development, internet users in Indonesia continue to increase but the percentage of young people using the internet for business remains low. This study analyzes the effect of internet usage on the income of young entrepreneurs in Indonesia using the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method and Propensity Score Matching (PSM). The results show that internet usage significantly increases the income of youth entrepreneurs. Internet usage for communication contributes positively to their income but usage for promotion, social media and marketplaces does not affect their income.

Bahasa Abstract

Elemen penting dalam kewirausahaan adalah kewaspadaan dalam melihat peluang yang belum dimanfaatkan. Dalam konteks perkembangan wirausaha, pengguna internet di Indonesia terus meningkat, tetapi persentase pemuda yang menggunakan internet untuk usaha masih rendah. Penelitian ini menganalisis pengaruh penggunaan internet terhadap pendapatan wirausaha pemuda di Indonesia menggunakan metode Ordinary Least Square (OLS) dan Propensity Score Matching (PSM). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan internet secara signifikan meningkatkan pendapatan wirausaha pemuda. Penggunaan jenis internet untuk komunikasi berkontribusi positif terhadap pendapatan wirausaha pemuda. Namun, penggunaan internet untuk masing-masing jenis internet, seperti internet untuk promosi, media sosial, dan lokapasar tidak berpengaruh terhadap pendapatan wirausaha pemuda.
