Volume 32, Number 3 (2025) Volume 32 Issue 3 (September 2025)
This issue presents a collection of studies that examine governance, community engagement, and sustainability across diverse contexts in Africa and Asia. The first paper, “Assessing Community Engagement in the Standard Gauge Railway Project in Tanzania: A Case Study of the Morogoro–Makutupora Segment,” explores how participatory approaches in large-scale infrastructure can enhance social inclusion and project acceptance. The second article, “A Civic Resignation? Generational Reactions to Government Data Breaches in Indonesia,” discusses how citizens, particularly across generations, respond to data insecurity and government accountability in the digital era. Complementing this, “Blue Economy Policy Implementation and Its Ecological Implications in Tomini Bay” evaluates the intersection between marine policy and ecological integrity, emphasizing the importance of sustainable governance. Meanwhile, “The Familiarity Effect in Prioritizing Distant Solutions: A Discrete Choice Experiment on Development Planners in Indonesia” investigates how cognitive familiarity influences decision-making among policymakers. The issue concludes with “Market-Economic Decentralization and Governance in Hargeisa Local Government, Somaliland,” which highlights institutional reform and local autonomy in post-conflict governance. Together, these articles contribute fresh perspectives on how societies adapt to governance, environmental, and digital challenges. We thank all contributors for their efforts in advancing global policy and development discourse. Editor
