Guidelines for the Preparation of Articles
Submission and Processing
The submission and processing of articles to JABT are conducted on a non-paying basis. Each submission must specify the intended issue. Articles that meet the initial technical requirements of JABT will be considered for the selection process.
Articles submitted to JABT must not have been published elsewhere and must not be under review for publication elsewhere.
Language
Articles must be written in either Indonesian or English.
For English articles, use British spelling with the -ize variant (e.g., organize, realize). Refer to a recent edition of the Oxford dictionary for consistency.
What to Submit
- Article Submission: Articles should be submitted online through the journal’s website or as an email attachment.
- Abstract: Provide an abstract of no more than 250 words, along with 3-5 keywords.
- Illustrations: Submit illustrations (tables, charts, diagrams, maps, figures, or photographs) as separate high-resolution files (300 dpi or higher) in PNG or JPEG format.
- Author Information: Include the authors’ current affiliations, research interests, titles of up to two main publications, and email addresses.
- Article Length: Articles should be between 20 and 40 A4 pages (excluding abstract, keywords, and references) and written in Times New Roman, 11 point, 1.15 spacing.
Abbreviations and Symbols
Avoid using abbreviations such as &, cf., e.g., etc., and i.e. Instead, write these out in full: "and", "for example", "et cetera", and "that is."
Common business-related abbreviations (e.g., ROI for Return on Investment, CSR for Corporate Social Responsibility, HRM for Human Resource Management) should be spelled out at their first occurrence, followed by the abbreviation in parentheses, like this: "Return on Investment (ROI)" or "Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)".
Special Symbols and Italics
Titles of books and journals should be italicized.
Non-English words should also be italicized unless they are considered loanwords in English.
Names and Dates
Full names, including initials, should be provided the first time a person is mentioned.
Dates in the text should follow the format: 8 April 2024; in notes and references, the format should be: 8-4-2024.
Quotations and Quotation Marks
Use double quotation marks for quotations, and single quotation marks for quotes within quotes.
Longer quotations should be set off from the text and indented, without quotation marks.
Footnotes and References
Footnote numbers should be placed after punctuation marks.
References to works should be cited within the text (e.g., Cohen 2004: 34-39). Multiple works by the same author should be separated by commas and identified with letters (e.g., Cohen 2002a, 2002b).
Reference Format
References should follow the APA 7th edition format.
Ensure that all works cited in the text are listed in the references, and all references listed are cited in the text.
For non-English sources, provide the original title followed by an English translation in square brackets.
