General Submission Rules and Review Process

This journal uses a double-anonymised model of peer review. Neither author nor reviewers know the identity of each other. There are three phases to the review process:

  1. Preliminary review stage. All submissions are anonymised and forwarded to our partner at Global: Jurnal Politik Internasional for an initial judgment of suitability. Roughly one half of all submissions are selected to continue the review process.
  2. Comprehensive double-blind peer review. The manuscript undergoes a comprehensive review process, during which their identity remains completely unknown to reviewers. Reviewers will check for: the article's contribution to the discipline, academic rigour and accuracy, as well as style and structure. Manuscripts will be returned to authors with requests for revisions based on the feedback provided. If successfully accepted, the author will also receive a version of their manuscripts with initial copy-editing suggestions.
  3. Copy-editing. The revised manuscripts are reviewed to determine if the changes made are satisfactory. If so, articles will proceed through a thorough round of copyediting prior to publication. Page proofs of articles will be sent to authors, who must return them by the date indicated in the email; where proofs are not received in time, the editor’s own corrected proof will be used. Proofs are intended for checking, not re-writing, and authors are most strongly reminded that material must be submitted that is ready for publication. Alterations at proof stage are accepted only at the discretion of the Editors-in-Chief.

Formatting Requirements

Indonesia Foreign Policy Review has no general rules about the formatting of articles upon initial submission. There are, however, rules governing the formatting of the final submission. See Final Manuscript Preparation Guidelines for details. Although bepress can provide limited technical support, it is ultimately the responsibility of the author to produce an electronic version of the article as a high-quality PDF (Adobe's Portable Document Format) file, or a Microsoft Word, WordPerfect or RTF file that can be converted to a PDF file.

It is understood that the current state of technology of Adobe's Portable Document Format (PDF) is such that there are no, and can be no, guarantees that documents in PDF will work perfectly with all possible hardware and software configurations that readers may have.
