Abstract

The establishment (plan) of a common hospital for Nordmøre and Romsdal is not the right policy nor a solution to end the long bickering between Kristiansund and Molde; it is a beginning of a wider contentious politics in Nordmøre and Romsdal Province. The undemocratic appointment of Hjelset (Molde) as the site for a new hospital in Nordmøre and Romsdal is not just a natural ‘consequence’ of the adoption of the new perspective in healthcare services in Norway and part of the agenda for the development of a more effective, professional and future oriented healthcare services in Norway, but also an outcome of the long contentious politics between the two towns and regions in the same province.

Rencana pembangunan pelayanan kesehatan bersama dengan cara mendirikan sebuah rumah sakit bersama nampaknya bukan kebijakan yang tepat bagi dua wilayah yang mempunyai sejarah pertikaian panjang dan bukan solusi yang tepat untuk menyelesaikan pertikaian politik yang terjadi di antara mereka. Kebijakan ini bahkan bisa menjadi awal pertikaian baru yang lebih luas dan tajam di masa depan. Kristiansund (di wilayah Nordmøre) dan Molde (di wilayah Romsdal) adalah dua kota di Provinsi Møre dan Romsdal yang mengalami pertikaian politik demikian. Penetapan lokasi rumah sakit di Hjelset (Molde, wilayah Romsdal) bukan sekedar ’konsekuensi’ dari diadopsinya perspektif baru dalam kebijakan pelayanan kesehatan di Norwegia dan bagian tidak terpisahkan dari agenda ke depan pembangunan pelayanan kesehatan yang efektif dan profesional, tetapi juga hasil dari perseteruan politik di antara dua kota (Kristiansund dan Molde) dan dua wilayah (Nordmøre and Romsdal).
