Abstract
Industrial Tourism serves as a gateway for the community to gain deeper insights into the operations, innovations, and contributions of the industrial sector. The practice of industrial tourism has been extensively adopted by various companies across the globe, aiming to provide education-based tours and simultaneously foster interest in the products and services produced by the industry. This research undertakes a comparative analysis of industrial tourism within the manufacturing sector, drawing data from direct observations conducted at PT. Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia in Indonesia and Jaguar Land Rover in the United Kingdom. The objective is to discern the distinctive characteristics of industrial tourism exhibited by both companies and to delineate the disparities between them. Based on field observations, the factory tour activities organized by both enterprises demonstrate hallmark features of industrial tourism. Furthermore, discernible differences between the two companies provide a reference for potential advancements in industrial tourism at PT. TMMIN and within other industries across Indonesia.
Bahasa Abstract
Wisata Industri merupakan pintu bagi masyarakat untuk mengetahui dan mengenal lebih dalam mengenai cara kerja, inovasi, dan kontribusi yang dilakukan oleh Industri. Kegiatan wisata industri sudah banyak dilakukan oleh berbagai perusahaan di belahan dunia dengan tujuan untuk memberikan wisata berbasis edukasi sekaligus mendorong tumbuhnya minat terhadap produk dan jasa yang dihasilkan industri. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan analisis komparatif mengenai wisata industri di bidang manufaktur dengan mengambil data berdasarkan hasil observasi langsung pada PT. Toyota Motor Manufactuing Indonesia di Indonesia dan Jaguar Land Rover di Inggris dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik wisata industri yang dimiliki oleh kedua perusahaan, serta mengetahui perbedaan diantara keduanya. Berdasarkan observasi lapangan, kegiatan tur pabrik yang diselenggarakan oleh kedua perusahan memiliki karakteristik dan dapat disebut sebagai kegiatan wisata industri, selain itu terdapat perbedaan diantara kedua perusahaan dan yang dapat dijadikan acuan untuk melakukan pengembangan wisata industri di PT. TMMIN maupun pada industri lain di Indonesia.
