Tourism Indonesia must immediately take actions or strategies to revive tourist destinations, followed by long-term programs. Buru Regency's tourism development potential can be grouped into 4 parts, namely, natural tourism, marine tourism, cultural tourism, and agro tourism. The purpose of this study is to analyze how tourism development in Buru Regency uses SWOT analysis (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, and Threats). This research was a qualitative descriptive study and data was obtained from the Buru District Tourism Office. The results of this study indicate that Tourism Destination Development generally includes five components that will contribute to the success of a particular tourist destination and tourism in general, both covering marketing, institutional and tourism industries, namely: 1) Determining the location of tourism destinations for local, national and internationally by mapping tourism objects and creating tourist area maps / routes. 2) Development of tourist attractions (tourist attractions). 3) Public Infrastructure, Public Facilities and Tourism which includes public infrastructure (electricity, water, telecommunications, waste management), public facilities (security, financial banking, business, health, sanitation and hygiene. 4) Community empowerment includes tourism awareness and capacity building society.
