Publication Ethics

Indonesian Journal of Medical Chemistry and Bioinformatics is a peer-reviewed journal, which follows the guidelines by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to prevent the issues of misconduct to meet good quality standards of ethics for publishers, authors, editors, and reviewers.

Editor duties

1. Editors along with editorial staff of Indonesian Journal of Medical Chemistry and Bioinformatics treat all submitted manuscript as confidential documents

2. Editors along with editorial staff of Indonesian Journal of Medical Chemistry are responsible for every submitted manuscripts and also responsible to help authors for following IJMCB’s instruction

3. Editors along with editorial staff of Indonesian Journal of Medical Chemistry must assess the submitted manuscripts objectively to be published.

4. Editors along with editorial staff of Indonesian Journal of Medical Chemistry must guarantee the eligibility of peer reviewers selected according to their competence to review the submitted manuscript

5. Editors along with editorial staff of Indonesian Journal of Medical Chemistry may be guided by the policies of the journal's editorial board and constrained by such legal requirements as shall then be in force regarding libel, copyright infringement and plagiarism

Reviewer duties

1. Reviewers which not able to review because of unqualified reason or unable to respond promptly should notify the editor and excuse themself from review process

2. Reviewers treat all received manuscript as confidential documents

3. Reviewers must not use the unpublished materials disclosed in a received manuscript for their own research without the express written consent of the author.

4. Reviewers must not be shown to or discussed with others except authorized by the editors.

5. Reviewers must give comments on suspected ethical issues, possible research, and publication misconduct.

6. Reviewers must be conducted objectively.

Author duties

1. Authors who submit their manuscript in Indonesian Journal of Medical Chemistry and Bioinformatics need to ensure originality of their work and cite resources properly without any inclinations to plagiarism or self-plagiarism.

2, Authors must ensure that the names and order of the authors are by order of their contributions and are approved by all members.

3. Authors should never be publishing the manuscript to another journal. This matter should be declared in the issue.

4. Study or Research that involves human or animal subjects should be performed in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki and must have been approved by an ethics committee. A statement includes the full name and institution of the research ethics review board, and approval number must be stated by the authors in the manuscript.

5. Authors must inform the editor if they will withdrawn the submitted manuscript
