Abstract

Indonesia is facing consecutive health problems caused by malnutrition, which poses long-term effects on children’s development. As this issue continues to be prominent, using linear regression and binary logistic regression with a time lag to analyze data from the Indonesian Family Life Survey (IFLS) in 2007 and 2014 provides valuable insights. Previous models indicated a weak correlation between maternal decision-making in food expenditure and children’s stunting. However, this study revealed different results. It suggests that the involvement of men in acquiring nutritional knowledge, skills, and providing financial support to empower women contributes to better nutritional outcomes for children. This study highlights the urgency to reassess and address the role of women in household decision-making to tackle malnutrition issues in Indonesia
