Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas tentang bagaimana interaksi parasosial berperan terhadap partisipasi penggemar K-pop dalam kegiatan sonminsu. Sonminsu (손민수) merupakan istilah baru yang dipakai ketika seseorang membeli barang yang sama dengan yang dimiliki oleh artis kesukaannya. Semakin lama, arti sonminsu ini semakin meluas penggunaannya menjadi segala aktivitas atau bentuk perilaku “mengikuti” atau “meniru” seseorang. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menjelaskan peran interaksi antara penggemar dan idola kesukaannya dalam memengaruhi fenomena sonminsu di dalam fandom K-pop. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dan teknik pengumpulan datanya melalui wawancara dan observasi terhadap penikmat K-pop. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa interaksi parasosial yang dilakukan oleh idola K-pop di media sosial mendorong dilaksanakannya kegiatan sonminsu oleh penggemar. Interaksi parasosial ini dijalin melalui platform resmi dan pribadi milik idola K-pop, seperti Twitter, Instagram, dan Youtube, serta online fan community, seperti Vlive, Lysn, dan Weverse.
