Abstract

Artikel ini membahas hubungan tokoh Rudin dan Natalya dalam novel Rudin karya Ivan Turgenev (1856) sebagai suatu bentuk cinta romantik. Tujuan dari artikel ini untuk menemukan elemen-elemen pendukung terbentuknya suatu jenis cinta dengan menggunakan tiga komponen teori segitiga cinta oleh Robert J. Sternberg, yaitu keintiman, hasrat, dan komitmen. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode strukturalisme semiotik Andreas Teeuw untuk memaknai kalimat terkait perjalanan cinta Rudin dan Natalya dalam novel Rudin. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bentuk cinta yang digambarkan oleh Ivan Turgenev melalui Rudin dan Natalya adalah bentuk cinta romantik dengan adanya kehadiran komponen keintiman dan komponen hasrat.
