Abstract
This paper aims to shed light on an emerging type of digital literature on X that acts as a medium for women to express their struggle and feelings in a patriarchal society. This new form of digital literature is novel for it has been popularized on X in the past few years, therefore there is much to explore regarding this field. In particular, this paper will look into how this new form of literature is being used by women to express their resistance against patriarchy on the digital sphere. The qualitative method with a feminist approach was used in this study to analyze contents that are in the form of words–prose and comments. In order to define patriarchy, this study will use Sylvia Walby’s definition and Helene Cisoux’s écriture féminine as a feminist literature analyzing tool. The data of this study consists of four short prose by Gamja (@gamjanuim) and Aru (@bukanwibudesu) that are posted on their personal accounts as well as looking at readers' comments and reactions towards those works to support this study. Based on the result of the study, it was found that (1) the choice of platform is intentional to deliver the message of resistance and resilience in a patriarchal society, and (2) the writers come up with a distinct writing style in order to show their resistance against patriarchy by eluding values and stereotype heavily associated with women.
Bahasa Abstract
